SUMMARY:Secondary-Power-Cell-Aware Detailed Placement in Multiple Power Do
 main Designs
DESCRIPTION:Yu-Wei Chang and Shao-Yun Fang (National Taiwan University of
Science and Technology) and Kai-Chuan Yang and Min-Ching Lin (Synopsys)\n\
nUsing multiple power domains is crucial for power savings in modern desig
ns, but advanced nodes face challenges in powering cross-domain cells due
to IR drop constraints and resource competition between secondary power an
d signal routing. This paper presents a detailed placement method that int
egrates secondary power routing considerations. Leveraging an integer line
ar programming (ILP) model and targeted cross-domain cell placement adjust
ments, our approach optimizes secondary power routing efficiency. Validati
on with commercial design tools demonstrates improvements in secondary pow
er routing performance by reducing the secondary power distribution networ
k (PDN) wirelength and decreasing PDN constraint violations.\n\nTopics: ED
